Robbie Knievel, Will be his last Stunt on New Years Eve to jump remade Las Vegas volcano with Video & Pictures of NEW Mirage Volcano

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Robbie Knievel has less than a month to study the fire-spewing volcanic terrain around his next motorcycle stunt. Luckily for him, it’s Las Vegas, where eruptions can be scheduled hourly, every single night.

Knievel, son of the late daredevil Evel Knievel, will jump the refurbished volcano at The Mirage hotel-casino on his motorcycle as part of a television special on New Year’s Eve.

Casino officials unveiled the $25 million facelift for the volcano on Monday night, a 5-minute spectacle of fire and water to a custom soundtrack co-written by former Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart.

Mirage President Scott Sibella says the refurbished volcano is the “crown jewel” of an overhaul of the 20-year-old megaresort.

Knievel says the stunt will likely be his last in the United States.
