Charles Barkley: All I Really Wanted Was Oral Sex
Police: Barkley arrest included talk about sex
The Arizona Republic is reporting that Charles Barkley told police he was in a hurry to go have sex when he was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of DUI.
The Republic quotes a police report that says Barkley made the comment while being processed by police in Phoenix area. “I was going to drive around the corner and get” oral sex from a female passenger he had just picked up, the report quotes Barkley as saying.
The report also says Barkley told a civilian employee at the processing center that “I’ll tattoo your name on my ass” if it would get him out of the arrest, the police report says.
UPDATE: The Smoking Gun has the arrest report.
The report didn’t name the female passenger. The former NBA star was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and being impaired to the slightest degree. He was pulled over, police said, after running a stop sign in Scottsdale.
A regional task force, the Republic says, has been making an intense effort to curb drunken driving and made 90 DUI arrests on Tuesday night alone in the Scottsdale area.
Barkley told the AP he was “disappointed that I put myself in that situation,” said the police were “fantastic,” and wouldn’t comment further since it is a legal matter.
The Republic also says the police report described Barkely as having bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath. The report added that Barkely failed a field sobriety test and refused a breathalyzer test but consented to a blood test. Those results won’t be available until next week.
